The people of Southern California live with the daily expectation of a catastrophe that has yet to happen but that already has a name: the Big One. Pressure is builging up along the San Andreas fault, yet nobody can predict the exact time and date of this future earthquake. One thing is certain though: as time passes, the risk increases. One after another, every new seismic scenario draws another version of a potential future. Los Angeles is a unique landscape where multiple strata show on the surface: geological, historical, and fictional. It is in these cracks — between facts and fantasy — that one can find geopoetics. This territory of the imagination is where desire and intuition coincide.
